Nottingham Forest striker Dale Taylor signed back during the summer. Last night, he was in the thick of the action as he scored his first goal for the Chairboys.
The Northern Irish performer is tipped for very big things at Forest. He checked in from Linfield and there he scored for the senior ranks at the age of just 15.
Since moving to Forest, he’s grown as a player. During the 2021/22 campaign, he helped the under-18s reach the final of the FA Youth Cup and played extremely well throughout.
After featuring on the bench under Steve Cooper during the closing stages of that season, he was also named as a substitute as Forest beat Crystal Palace 1-0 in November
For the second half of the 2022/23 campaign, he went on loan to Burton Albion. He showcased some real maturity during that loan spell and scored five goals in 20 appearances for the club.
Now, he’s earned another crack at League One with Wycombe. After two disappointing 3-0 losses to open up the campaign, they got themselves a first three points last night.
Taylor made the score 3-1 to the home side in the 84th minute after playing up front with experienced striker Sam Vokes. His goal was nicely taken and the delight was etched all over his face.
Forest striker Taylor scores first goal for Wycombe
This was a wonderful moment for Taylor who clearly enjoyed his goal. Hopefully, he will get lots of opportunities to keep playing this season and that should serve him well.
There will come a time when Forest have to think about giving Taylor a chance to shine at the City Ground. Right now, however, the best thing for the 19-year-old to do is play football.
Gary Brazil raved about Taylor previously. He called him ‘strong, quick, intelligent and someone who has a keen eye for goal’ back in 2022 and clearly he’s a big fan.
Wycombe have got themselves a quality player by taking Forest starlet Taylor for the season. if he is given the chance to play regular football, he should score more goals as the season progresses.
