SAD NEWS: FFP officially declares Nottingham Forest’s punishment for breaking FFP rules before the points deduction approach.

After learning that Nottingham Forest might be punished for their Financial Fair Play circumstances, Joey Barton responded.

What has Barton stated regarding Forest and their current situation, then? Let’s investigate more closely.

Barton’s remarks regarding the Forest and FFP situation
It’s safe to say that Barton’s opinions on other hot-button football issues aren’t always spot on.

Fans of the Forest, though, may find it intriguing that he is supporting the team in this dispute.

According to reports, Forest appears likely to violate sustainability and profitability regulations for the three years leading up to June 2021.

Forest will reportedly vehemently contest them, but if proven guilty, they risk a significant fine or, in the worst case scenario, a reduction in points.

Barton believes it is unfair that Everton and Forest will be charged, while Manchester City has 115 charges against them and nothing has happened.

It’s almost as if the Premier League are keen to make the gap between the big six and the smaller clubs even bigger with their system that has more holes in it than a sieve.

Still, Forest knew the rules and essentially they may now face a fine or a points deduction this season.

Lessons need to be learned behind the scenes at Forest. Barton does make some good points and it’s hard to imagine that the hierarchy isn’t furious.

However, rules are indeed rules and moving forward, Forest have to make sure they stay on the straight and narrow in the future.
