Sad News: Leicester City blowed three star injury ahead of Liverpool clash

Uncategorized

Leicester City are quickly back in action this week as they look to take their league form into cup competitions.

After overcoming Burton Albion and Tranmere Rovers in the first and second round of the Carabao Cup earlier this season, City face a trip to Anfield to take on Liverpool in the third round of the competition. The game comes four days after City recorded a 1-0 win over Bristol City at the King Power Stadium.

The match against Liverpool is expected to see both sides make some changes amid a hectic schedule. It could also give City a chance to give a debut to Conor Coady, with the defender returning from injury to be named in the squad for the last three games where he was an unused substitute.

There is however doubt over another defender in Callum Doyle. The Man City loanee has started every City game under Enzo Maresca so far this season, but was taken off at half time of the win over Bristol City with a knee injury.

With that in mind, here is the latest news from the physio room at Seagrave. City are expected to be missing three players for the game.

Callum Doyle

Doyle was taken off at half time of Saturday’s clash against Bristol City. He was seen after the game leaving the King Power Stadium on crutches and with his knee in a brace.

What Maresca has said: “He had a problem in his knee,” the City boss said following the win over Bristol City. “On Monday they’re going to scan him and hopefully it’s nothing because he would be a big loss.”

Possible return date: Unknown

Dennis Praet

The midfielder has missed the last seven games in all competitions with a back injury. He picked up the problem in the lead up to the Championship clash against Huddersfield last month.

What Maresca has said : “It’s an important injury,” he said at the start of the month. “It’s probably between 10 and 12 weeks. It’s his back.”

Possible return date : vs Watford (H) November 25.
