There are three Las Vegas Raiders who will go up against their former team in the Detroit Lions this Monday night on week 8 of the 2022-23 NFL regular season. We are starting with Raiders coaching assistant/returner Danny Amendola. Amendola played for the Lions for two seasons, in 2019 and 2020. During two seasons with the Lions, he racked up 1,280 on 108 receptions and one touchdown in a total of 29 games played. Raiders assistant special teams coach Derius Swinton II also spent time with the Lions.
Amber Abdullah runs head-to-head with his former team on Monday night. Abdullah was originally selected 54th overall in the Lions’ second round of the 2015 NFL Draft. He played three seasons for the Lions from 2015-2018. He finished with 1,251 rushing yards on 327 total carries and six touchdowns on 35 total games played. This Monday night will also feature four Raiders returning to the state of Michigan in where they played their college ball. Raiders defensive end Maxx Crosby attended Eastern Michigan University from 2015-18. Crosby played 38 games with the Easter Michigan Eagles and racked up 162 total tackles, with 73 being solo. He also finished his college career with 20 sacks and one interception. Brian Hoyer attended Michigan State University from 2004-2008. In three seasons with the Spartans, Hoyer threw 485 completions on 873 attempts for 5,992 total passing yards. He also threw 33 touchdown passes during his time as a Spartan
Swinton II spent a short season with the Lions on the offensive side of the ball in 2018, serving as an offensive assistant. Western Michigan from 2014-17. Spillane played 47 games with the Western Michigan Broncos, in which he finished 312 total tackles, with 156 being solo. He also had ten sacks and four interceptions during his college career at Western Michigan.
