Medicals Approved: Salernitana and Boateng have agreed to a six-month contract, it was officially confirmed today.

The free agent signing of former Bayern Munich defender Jerome Boateng has been formally announced by alSernitana.

Over the past few years, off-field legal issues have ruined the 35-year-old German center back’s career, leaving him single at the end of the previous campaign. Before supporters voiced concerns, he spent six months at the training facility and was briefly connected to a return to Bayern.

Boateng has now agreed to a six-month contract with Salernitana, as confirmed today, and will play for the remainder of the season with the team. On the coast of Campania, he will don the number five shirt and will now begin assimilating into the team led by coach Filippo Inzaghi.
