Even though Albert Gudmundsson might have left Genoa during the most recent transfer window, Juventus is still considering signing him in the summer. Fiorentina was actively looking to sign him in January, but Juventus decided to hold off until the summer.
La Viola and Genoa continued to negotiate until the very last moments of the transfer window, but they were unable to come to a mutual understanding. Gudmundsson stayed at Genoa as a result, giving Juventus another chance to sign him in the summer.
In response to the transfer saga from January, the 26-year-old has expressed satisfaction with his choice to remain at Genoa.
As cited by Tuttojuve, he stated:
Although the final few days of the winter transfer window were a little strange, I’m glad I stayed in Genoa. I think I can accomplish the seasonal objectives I set for myself in this place.
Juventus FC Declares
We are happy that Albert Gudmundsson chose not to sign with another club during the most recent transfer window, as he will be a great addition to our team in the summer.
In order to finish the transfer on schedule, hopefully we will have the money in the summer to pay Genoa’s asking price.
