The Southern Scorpions clinched the inaugural Southern Smash women’s T20 title with a historic 2-1 series victory over Bunbury and Districts.
The series, held at the Scorpions’ home ground, showcased the burgeoning talent in women’s cricket within the region. The Scorpions demonstrated resilience and skill, particularly after a challenging start in the final match. They overcame an early setback of 3 wickets for 3 runs in the opening powerplay to successfully chase down Bunbury and Districts’ total with three overs to spare.
The competition began with the Scorpions securing a win in the first match, successfully chasing down a target of 95 runs set by Bunbury and Districts. Bunbury and Districts responded in the second match, leveling the series and setting the stage for a decisive third game.
