Nottingham Forest were in talks to sign former Tottenham Hotspur Davinson Sanchez this summer, before his move to Galatasaray.
The 27-year-old was free to leave Ange Postecoglou’s side following the Australian’s arrival at the club earlier this year.
Colombian Sanchez, who is reportedly earning £65,000-a-week, left England for Turkey joining Galatasaray, with Champions League football on offer.
The defender has enjoyed a good start to life at the club, scoring once in seven games – with Galatasaray sitting second in the Super Lig.
