According to reports from Brazil, Leicester City is one of the teams considering a move for Sao Paulo center-back Lucas Beraldo.
While they compete for promotion to the Premier League, Leicester City will be looking to bolster their roster during the January transfer window. The Foxes have a sizable lead over Leeds United, who are currently in third place in the Championship table.
It appears that the leaders of the second division may be about to face off against some of their former Premier League rivals for the promising Lucas Beraldo.
According to a report from Brazilian publication UOL (which Sport Witness recapped), Leicester City is prepared to offer the Sao Paulo center back €20 million, or roughly £17 million. Terra also mentioned that a proposal might be made in the upcoming weeks.
It might be difficult to entice Beraldo to the Championship as a result. Money talks, though, and the potential £17 million on offer might be sufficient to lure the Sao Paulo player to the King Power Stadium.
He might decide to join Leicester City over other top-flight teams because they are well-positioned to return to the Premier League. Beraldo might be drawn to the opportunity to play for a team that Enzo Maresca has revitalized, but only time will tell if these rumors turn out to be true.
