The Miami Heat have established a practice of gradually getting into shape throughout the regular season, and the 2023–24 NBA season is no exception.
The Heat are having another mediocre season after reaching the NBA Finals the previous one, but most people believe that they will pick things up when the postseason arrives.
Miami, with a record of 30–25, is currently ranked seventh in the Eastern Conference and needs to win a Play-In Tournament match to secure a spot in the playoffs.
With Bam Adebayo and Jimmy Butler to support them on both ends of the court, it’s difficult to see them losing a game at home.
For the Heat, Adebayo in particular is having a career year as he continues to dominate the painted area while taking on more offensive responsibilities.
Even more, Adebayo has been more impressive than Anthony Davis, according to former Miami guard Norris Cole via Gil’s Arena.
“He’s the league’s best two-way player… He is a better playmaker, assists more effectively, and blocks shots just as well.
Similar to Adebayo, Davis is having a standout season in both categories and is probably going to sneak into some MVP voting at the conclusion of the regular season.
Even though Adebayo has many advantages, it’s difficult to take Cole seriously because, when playing, Davis is perhaps the most disruptive defensive player in the league.
Although both large men are excellent at what they do, it’s difficult to rank Adebayo higher than Davis right now.
