A offered trade finally sends $96 million to the miami heat before Celtic

“They’ve long seemed determined to address the perimeter shot-creator role, and he wouldn’t be the worst option to fill it.” Written by Bucklet. “Yeah, he would be more of a third or fourth option in Miami, but he could still contribute a respectable amount of complementary volume and possibly more efficiently. On nights when Jimmy Butler defers or Bam Adebayo and Tyler Herro struggle to find the basket, his point total might explode.”

As the starting point guard for the Boston Celtics from 2015 to 2019, Rozier contributed to the team’s run to the 2018 Eastern Conference Finals. He’s currently two years into a four-year, $96 million deal.

With a 9-31 record, the Hornets are all but eliminated from the postseason picture. Terry Rozier would supposedly prefer to join the Heat if they were to start over.

According to Jake Fischer of Yahoo! Sports, on January 17, “Terry Rozier’s strong play has made the combo guard a more viable trade candidate than ever at his $24 million average annual salary, with a known preference to join the Miami Heat.”

Rozier hasn’t made it to the playoffs in almost five years, but since moving to Charlotte, he has developed into a better guard. His scoring average of 23.6 points per game and his 46% shooting percentage are both career highs.

Fischer continued by saying that all but three of the Hornets’ players are now available through trade.

With the backing of the new ownership, the Hornets have signaled that they will be more involved this deadline than they have been in past transaction windows. With the exception of LaMelo Ball, Brandon Miller, and Mark Williams, all players are reportedly available in Charlotte, Fischer wrote.

There are no reports indicating that the sentiment is reciprocated. But with Rozier, the Heat might have a chance if the Hornets are serious about making a fresh start.
