Jamal Murray of the Denver Nuggets may be unable to play against the Miami Heat on Thursday.
There may be less sparkle in the first matchup between the teams from the NBA Finals last year.
The Denver Nuggets’ game against the Miami Heat at Ball Arena on Thursday may be postponed. It was unclear if he will play following Wednesday’s Nuggets victory against the Sacramento Kings.
Nuggets coach Mike Malone responded, “I don’t know”
Murray responded, “I’ll just take tomorrow and we’ll see,” when questioned.
In the victory over the Kings, Murray finished with 32 points, six assists, and three rebounds. He made 5 of 6 3-pointers on his 13 of 15 field goal attempts.
Murray missed the second night of a back-to-back on February 23 against the Portland Trail Blazers, which is the cause for the concern. Due to bilateral tibia irritation, he was ruled out.
Murray claims he won’t view the match as a Finals rematch and will approach it like any other game if he does participate. The Nuggets won five games against the Heat the previous season.
“Really, no, just trying to play the game and get dub,” said Murray. “I’m sure they’ll launch themselves with force and aggression. We simply need to be prepared to not only match the enthusiasm but surpass it and once more take advantage of our home court.”
