Sky news: Kyrie Irving officially joins the Miami Heat, as  Tyler Herro and Caleb Martin join the Dallas Mavericks.

The Miami Heat’s 2023–24 season hasn’t exactly gone as planned thus far. The Eastern Conference champions fell to 26-24 on the season on Sunday night after a disappointing 103-95 loss to the Los Angeles Clippers.

The Heat acquired Terry Rozier in a big trade that they thought would help them turn things around, but it still looks like they need more firepower. Kyrie Irving might be able to provide that, as The Athletic has revealed a fictitious deal in which Miami would acquire the star guard.

With this move, the Heat would acquire their star point guard after failing in their pursuit of Damian Lillard during the offseason. P.J. Washington and Tyler Herro would be two solid additions for the Dallas Mavericks. Last but not least, the Charlotte Hornets would acquire two gifted young players in addition to Grant Williams, who they may be able to ship out of town in a subsequent trade.

The Heat Get A Much-Needed Boost To Their Offense
The Heat’s offense has played a major role in their season-long mediocrity. Miami is ranked 23rd in the NBA with an offensive rating of 112.8. Irving should definitely help with that, averaging 25.1 points, 5.1 rebounds, 5.4 assists, 1.4 steals, and 0.5 blocks per game.
