Tottenham Hotspur are reported to be upping their interest in Leeds United defender Pascal Struijk as defensive problems mount up for Ange Postecoglou’s side.
Both of the North London team’s starting center defenders left the field early in their disastrous loss to Chelsea; Micky van de Ven was forced off due to an injury, while Cristian Romero was sent off. The Dutchman, 22, is probably going to be sidelined till the New Year, given the severity of his injury, which, which was later disclosed.
According to reports, Spurs are considering a move for van de Ven’s countryman Struijk in light of the Leeds player’s stellar start to the campaign. But Struijk himself will be out for a while since he had surgery this week to repair a hernia. It is anticipated that the defender will resume training following the international break.

This report comes just days after the Daily Mail revealed that Jurgen Klopp’s side were keen to part with around £40 million to lure the midfielder to Merseyside. The versatile Gray has featured in 15 of the Whites 16 league games so far this term and has been used in recent weeks at full-back as Leeds await the return of Djed Spence from injury.
