Sky News: Nottingham Forest manager Steve Cooper meets with midfielder Hayden Hackney’s agent In order to signs the transfer agreement

Nottingham Forest watched Middlesbrough midfielder Hayden Hackney in person last week and are intensifying their pursuit of him.

Hackney is reportedly a target for the Reds, who were first connected to a move for the England under-21 player at the end of the summer.

Alan Nixon claims on his Patreon page that Forest is still considering Hackney and that Ross Wilson was sent to see the young player play for the England 21s last week.

After making an impression in the match against Northern Ireland, Hackney, Forest may choose to pursue a more serious interest in January.

Nottingham Forest is interested in signing Hackney Hayden
In an attempt to establish themselves in the Premier League, Forest has signed a large number of players in recent windows, and thus far, it has been successful.

They obviously want more, though, and Hayden Hackney is a player who has been a mainstay for Middlesbrough for a while.

Hackney, who has been praised by Michael Carrick as a “terrific” player for him since taking over at the club, seems certain to make it to the Premier League.

Naturally, Boro won’t want to offload players in the middle of the season, and with the fixtures coming thick and fast, they’ll view Hackney as essential to their own hopes of finishing in the top six.
