SKY NEWS: Possible Possibilities for Attack Coordinator on the Cleveland Browns

A list of offensive coordinator candidates that make sense for the Cleveland Browns and Kevin Stefanski.

Shortly after losing to the Houston Texans in the wild-card round on January 13, the Cleveland Browns fired three of their offensive coaches.

On Wednesday morning, January 17, Josina Anderson of CBS Sports announced that the team had chosen to let go of offensive coordinator Alex Van Pelt. The Browns will also part ways with tight ends coach T.C. McCartney and running backs coach Stump Mitchell.

Kevin Stefanski will be looking to bolster the offensive coordinator position with a bright and creative offensive mind. This is a list of plausible candidates…

Miami Dolphins quarterbacks coach and passing game coordinator Darell Bevell
Bevell and Stefanski shared coaching duties as the offensive coordinator and coordinator for the Minnesota Vikings from 2006 to 2010. His Vikings offense ranked second in scoring and fifth in yards in 2009.

Bevell won the 2013 Super Bowl while serving as the offensive coordinator for the Seattle Seahawks from 2011 to 2017.

Bevell has collaborated with Russell Wilson, Brad Johnson, Matthew Stafford, Trevor Lawrence, Brett Favre, and Tua Tagovailoa.

Kelly has spent the last two seasons as the offensive coordinator for the Titans, but she will probably be looking for work as well because head coach Mike Vrabel was fired following the season. A newly hired head coach usually wants to bring in his own personnel.

Kelly is interesting because, during Deshaun Watson’s best NFL season, he served as the offensive coordinator.

He spent three seasons (2019–2021) as the offensive coordinator while he was a member of the Texans from 2014–2021. He played quarterback with Watson for two of those seasons. Watson could be a candidate for Stefanksi because of his effectiveness in Kelly’s offense.

Having spent the last two seasons as the quarterbacks coach and pass game coordinator, Robinson has spent five years with the Los Angeles Rams.

Robinson worked as a senior analyst for Pro Football Focus, a well-known analytics website, prior to joining the Rams. Since 2016, he has established himself as one of the top pro and collegiate quarterback analysts on the website.

In the 2010 NFL Draft, Robinson was chosen by the Patriots in the seventh round (250th overall) after spending four seasons as an NFL quarterback. After that, he had brief stints with the Cincinnati Bengals, Seattle, and Detroit Lions.

Liam Coen is the University of Kentucky’s offensive coordinator and quarterbacks coach.
Coen coached the Los Angeles Rams for three years under McVay’s tutelage. In 2021, Coen returned to collegiate football and assumed the role of Offensive

After serving as McVay’s offensive coordinator for a second time with the Rams in 2022, Coen joined Kentucky as offensive coordinator in 2023.

He is an intriguing candidate because of his background coaching offensive in both college and professional football, as well as his invaluable time spent working under McVay.

The offensive coordinator for the Seattle Seahawks is Shane Waldron.
Waldron began his career in the NFL’s front office before moving to New England to become a coach.

He came from the Mcvay coaching line and played for the Rams from 2017 to 2020 before joining Pete Carrol’s staff in Seattle as the offensive coordinator. As of the end of the current campaign, Carroll will no longer be the Head Coach, raising concerns about Waldron’s future with the group.
