Rangers is reportedly getting close to signing the forgotten man of Nottingham Forest, a Nigerian international valued at £20 million, as the Premier League team loses faith in him.
Following his team’s 3-1 victory over Kilmarnock during the midweek, Philippe Clement stated he anticipated his team to be “very active” in the transfer market.
And active they are, too. After bringing in former PSV Eindhoven and Porto striker Fabio Silva on loan from Wolves, Rangers are now focusing on acquiring a left-back and other offensive reinforcements.
Het Nieuwsblad and Het Belang van Limburg have both reported claims from Belgium that Emmanuel Dennis is “on his way” to Ibrox.
Dennis, a well-known figure to Clement, might cross paths with the coach he was assistant to at Club Brugge in Belgium. The talented Nigerian international scored twice for Clement’s Brugge team in the Champions League matchup against Real Madrid. That same season, he scored in the Europa League against Manchester United as well.
Perhaps a reunion with a coach who is familiar with him will reignite Dennis’s passion. Just a year after moving to Nottingham, the 26-year-old’s career at the City Ground took a nosedive as he lost favor and was loaned out to Istanbul Basaksehir.after joining Nottingham Forest for an astonishing £20 million in just 12 months.
According to the report, Dennis may have to leave Turkey in January, which would allow Rangers to sign him.
