SKY NEWS: The FBI has detained NBA G League player Chance Comanche on suspicion of being linked to the kidnapping and murder of a woman in Las Vegas.

The Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) detained NBA G League player Chance Comanche on Friday, according to a report from Fox News Digital.

In relation to the disappearance of a 23-year-old medical assistant, the 27-year-old player for the Stockton Kings, an NBA G League affiliate of the Sacramento Kings, was detained by FBI agents, per Fox News Digital. Earlier this month, Marayna Rodgers vanished in Las Vegas. At this point, Comanche is being charged with first-degree kidnapping.

According to the jail records, Comanche was taken into the Sacramento County Jail without being given the opportunity to post bail, as Fox News Digital reported. The Stockton Kings immediately released him following his arrest; however, neither the Kings nor the NBA have yet to comment on the

The victim was last seen, according to the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department (LVMPD), with Comanche’s purported girlfriend, Sakari Harnden, a 19-year-old, prior to her disappearance. In connection with Rodgers’ disappearance, Harnden is accused of first-degree kidnapping, according to Fox News Digital. Her bond is currently $500,000. She is being held in a jail in Las Vegas. The previous evening, Comanche was in Nevada for a G League game when Rodgers went missing. The next day, he was in Portland, Oregon, for another game.

 

According to LVMPD, after the suspects were apprehended, investigators obtained more information that resulted in the finding of a body in a Nevada desert. The Clark County Coroner’s assessment has been used by the authorities to verify that Rodgers’ remains are those of his.

According to LVMPD, the charges against Harnden and Comanche have since been upgraded by the investigators to include murder. Rodgers was allegedly being held against her will by Harnden. Judge Diana Sullivan of the Las Vegas Justice Court set Harnden’s bail and stressed the need for prompt notification if Rodgers is discovered alive, as Fox News Digital also reported. Harnden is also charged with theft in a different but related incident for allegedly taking a Rolex.

The court date for Comanche was set for December 19.
