Zach LaVine, an All-Star from the Chicago Bulls, is still connected to the Los Angeles Lakers this season. The unhappy Bulls guard has been sidelined recently because of an injury, but the league believes he will be dealt before the trade deadline.
There doesn’t seem to be much of a market for LaVine right now. Though not many teams are vying for his services, a few league executives believe that when all is said and done, he will end up in Los Angeles.
Starting on December 15, the Lakers will have the ability to trade away players such as D’Angelo Russell and Rui Hachimura. In the event of a LaVine transaction, this is the trade package that would probably return to Chicago.
LA needs to improve offensively. They are still a bit of a stagnant team at times, and that will hurt them come playoff time. LaVine would help with this, and his ball-handling abilities would take pressure off star LeBron James. This is a move that LA really should look into, as it would give them a better chance to win the title this season. The front office has been hesitant to break up the solid depth that they have built
It will be fascinating to watch what transpires over the next few weeks leading up to the trade deadline. LA is probably going to wait and see how they perform collectively before deciding whether to acquire LaVine.
