SKY NEWS: The star player for the New York Mets is expected to be sidelined for all of April due to shoulder injury.

Kodai Senga of the New York Mets will probably miss all of April due to shoulder problems. This is the most recent.

Updated @ 12:45 p.m. ET on February 25, Senga will be out of commission for three weeks and most likely won’t be back for the start of the season.

Dicomo stated on social media:

Update on Kodai Senga: in New York, he had a PRP injection in his shoulder. Three weeks should pass during his shutdown before he picks up his throwing programme again.

The Mets aren’t committing to a schedule for Senga, but if you do the math—a three-week layoff plus a typical six-week buildup to spring training—it seems unlikely that, even in the best-case scenario, he’ll pitch before the end of April. It’s more likely in May.

February 22: Kodai Senga, the ace of the New York Mets, will be sidelined indefinitely due to a minor injury in his shoulder, just one day after it was discovered that he was experiencing “arm fatigue.”

Per MLB.com’s Anthony Dicomo:

According to David Stearns, Kodai Senga has a mild right posterior capsule strain in his shoulder.

Senga will be sidelined by the Mets until his symptoms go away. Although a precise timeframe is now unknown, they do not anticipate him being ready for Opening Day.

The news is really terrible for Senga and the Mets. First off, considering that the Mets now rank fourth in the National League East, injuries to their studs are something they just cannot afford. Senga was expected to emerge in his second season with the team as the organisational ace after the team traded away Justin Verlander and Max Scherzer the previous season.

The team’s best options without him will probably be Adrian Houser, Tylor Megill, or Jose Butto.

Senga had a long career in Japan before joining the Mets a season ago, and he made an instant impact. The 31-year-old was chosen an All-Star in the National League after making 29 starts. He placed second in the National League with a record of 12-7 and 2.98 ERA.

Senga is not the only important pitcher in baseball who will miss the first few games of the season due to injury. Kyle Bradish of the Baltimore Orioles will also start the season on the injured list due to a UCL problem.
