The Los Angeles Lakers were considered one of the favorites to at least secure a postseason berth in 2024 a few weeks ago.
Since their most recent loss to the Memphis Grizzlies, the 17-time NBA champions have lost four straight games.
Austin Reaves, the guard for the Lakers, took to Twitter following the game to express his frustration at having lost yet another game this season.
Reaves stated, “As players, we have to improve in order to affect them and miss shots.
Even with Anthony Davis, a front-runner for Defensive Player of the Year, on the team, the Los Angeles Lakers have had trouble playing outstanding defense this year.
Despite having two players score over 30 points in the game—LeBron James and Anthony Davis—the Purple and Gold lost 113-127.
With a 17-19 record after the loss, the Lakers have dropped to the 11th seed in the Western Conference.
Being two games below.500 is definitely not a good look for the Lakers, who were regarded as one of the favorites to win it all this season.
Around the NBA Trade Deadline, it won’t be shocking if the Lakers make a few roster adjustments and even consider firing head coach Darvin Ham in order to start over.
