The former Minnesota Vikings quarterback is appointed for a new job a few days after departing.

Teddy Bridgewater, a former NFL quarterback, did not have a lengthy jobless spell. After retiring, the seasoned quarterback has already secured his next position in the league.

Bridgewater declared in December of 2023 that the 2023 season would be his final one with the Detroit Lions. The Lions’ season and Bridgewater’s career were essentially ended by the team’s loss to the San Francisco 49ers in the NFC Championship Game last week.

Teddy Bridgewater, a former quarterback for the Minnesota Vikings, defied the odds to play in the NFL for ten years.
The Vikings selected the Miami native in the first round of the 2014 NFL Draft after he excelled at Louisville. After starting Matt Cassell got a serious foot injury, rookie Bridgewater was thrown into the fire right away.

Bridgewater had his best season as a player in his sophomore campaign, leading Minnesota to an 11-5 record and a postseason berth. He threw for 3,221 yards with 14 touchdowns and 9 interceptions in his one and only Pro Bowl season.

But during the 2016 and 2017 seasons, Bridgewater missed all but one game due to a potentially career-ending leg injury. After that, he even came dangerously close to losing his leg.

However, Bridgewater managed to recuperate from his injury gradually, and in 2018 and 2019, he was able to secure a backup position with the New Orleans Saints. Over the next two seasons, he defied the odds and started every game for the Denver Broncos and Carolina Panthers.
