sky sport news: Rangers can go far in Europa League as Jack Butland divulges Philippe Clement…..

Jack Butland reckons the sky is the limit as far as the Europa League is concerned now that Philippe Clement is Rangers manager.

The goalkeeper has been outstanding since arriving on a free transfer in the summer and was the one shining light amid the darkness towards the end of Michael Beale’s tenure as Ibrox boss. But Butland – speaking ahead of the Light Blues’ home clash against Sparta Prague on Thursday – isn’t thinking about the past and knows now that under Clement, Rangers can be a force to be reckoned with in Europe due to the strong ‘belief’ the Belgian has instilled since arriving in Glasgow.

When asked how far Rangers may go in the Europa League this year, Butland confidently answered that the team is now capable of defeating anybody. “I think we’re taking every game as it comes, regardless of whether we’re the favorites or the underdogs,” he stated. We are confident in our strength at home because we understand what it’s like to be confronted by strangers.

However, I believe that as a squad, we are confident in our ability to play anybody. Perhaps that wasn’t the feeling at first, but it has undoubtedly developed into that. It doesn’t imply that we won’t face challenging matches or circumstances; in fact, we already had to fall down against Hearts a few weeks ago.

“We’re growing as a team and I think that the belief is that whether we’re winning or behind, we’re going to win a game of football. I think we’re heading towards a position where we really don’t fear anybody and that falls in line with what this club is all about.”
