Sky Sports: Legend of football has been officially  sacked as Serie A underdogs chase PNE captain Alan Browne

Amidst persistent rumors that Salernitana was interested in signing Preston North End captain Alan Browne, the club made a managerial change.

January was always going to be a damp squib due to heavy summer spending, but it almost got a bit lively before the deadline.

Serie A strugglers Salernitana were reportedly vying for PNE captain Alan Browne, according to reports from Italy.

Even though Browne was still at Deepdale when the deadline passed, Salernitana reportedly planned to try to reach a pre-contract arrangement with the Irishman, according to Sky Sports.

At the end of the current campaign, Browne’s contract expires, and there hasn’t been much progress toward a possible agreement to keep him at Deepdale.

Browne may still be on the move after ten years at PNE, but Salernitana doesn’t exactly seem like the most appealing team at the moment.
