So far in the 2023 season, the Dallas Cowboys have seen their fair share of highs and lows. The Cowboys front staff is apparently getting ready to be buyers with sights on a particular side of the ball as the NFL trade deadline approaches.
With landslide victories against the New York Giants, New England Patriots, and New York Jets, Dallas comes into Week 7 at 4-2. But losses of 32 points to the San Francisco 49ers and 12 points to the Arizona Cardinals cast serious doubt on the Cowboys’ ability to contend for the Super Bowl.
Both on and off the ball, there are numerous problems that need to be resolved. Dallas was rated 26th in red-zone touchdown percentage (39.13%), 18th in offensive touchdowns per game (1.8), and 22nd in second-half scoring per game (9.2 points) going into today’s NFL games.
Senior NFL reporter Charles Robinson mentioned the Cowboys as one of the clubs he has heard is acting as a buyer ahead of the trade deadline on the Inside Coverage podcast. Regarding possible targets, he mentioned Dan Quinn’s defense.
