He was the No. 1 overall pick in the 1980 Draft and played over 1,000 times for the New York Mets.
The former right infielder was rushed to St. Joseph Hospital West in Lake St. Louis, Missouri, on Monday.
“Praising God for His amazing grace and loving mercy in saving my life this evening from a heart attack,” Strawberry wrote in an update to his 147,000 Instagram followers.
