TalkSport News: Rangers finally complete new manager final shortlist amid Frank Lampard claims……

Uncategorized

Jonny McFarlane has issued an update on the Rangers managerial search as an update has emerged on ex Chelsea and Everton boss Frank Lampard.

TalkSPORT reported on 6 October that the Premier League legend was on the final shortlist to be the next Gers boss.

However, Rangers Review’s McFarlane claims that any claims that the club have narrowed down on a few names are wide of the mark.

Via Twitter, he wrote, “Fans should be aware that sources at the club say any notion of a final shortlist at this stage is wide of the mark.”

Rangers need to do their due diligence before making a final decision over who their top three candidates are for the job.

They made big mistakes with Giovanni van Bronckhorst and Michael Beale and as it was proven, both were the wrong ones for the job.

Lampard does not appear to be the right option either as his managerial track record in recent years shows he’s not up for the challenge.

He struggled at a club like Chelsea who’ve got an abundance of riches so there’s no reason to think he’ll succeed at Rangers where there’s a more modest budget.

Hopefully, whoever the decision makers are, take all of this into consideration before narrowing in on their desired targets.

Kjetil Knutsen’s name has been thrown into the mix and he’s an option that would make a lot of sense for the club.
