Talksport Report: 4 Reason Why Highly-rated guru rejects risky Rangers move after job approach from Ibrox……

Sam Jewell has rejected a move to Rangers despite the club offering him the opportunity to become their new director of football, according to Alan Nixon.

The Sun journalist reported on his Patreon on Sunday (22 October) that the highly-rated Brighton transfer guru has opted to remain with the Premier League club to carry on his work at the Amex Stadium.

He added that the 34-year-old decided not to take the risk of moving to Ibrox after he was thought to be an ideal replacement for Ross Wilson, who left the Light Blues to join Nottingham Forest in April.

This news will have come as a blow to the Rangers board after they were keen to bring Jewell in on the back of his impressive work at Brighton.

In his role as head of recruitment for the Seagulls, he is believed to have been the brains behind the signings of players such as Moises Caicedo and Carlos Baleba.

That is something the Gers were hoping to tap into as they look to take a different approach with their recruitment after former manager Michael Beale was given license to bring in the players he wanted over the summer.

Although the Light Blues are a bigger club in terms of stature than Brighton, the English outfit appear to be onto something good at the moment and they will have greater spending power due to the money in the Premier League.

The Ibrox hierarchy will now have to go back to the drawing board as they look to bring someone in who can work closely with new boss Philippe Clement to get the right signings in moving forward.
