Philippe Clement enjoyed a dream Rangers debut, with his side defeating Hibernian 4-0 on Saturday (21 October).
The Ibrox outfit were in fine form in front of their own fans, with Abdallah Sima (two), Nicolas Raskin and Cyriel Dessers on target.
It was a fine attacking display, led by summer arrival Sima, who is currently on a season-long loan from Premier League club Brighton.
His temporary signature by former Gers boss Michael Beale has proven to be a very good one, with goalkeeper Jack Butland perhaps the only other summer arrival to have really impressed so far.
Beale brought nine new faces to the club in the most recent transfer window, and it is that pair who have really shone in the blue half of Glasgow.
Sima looks set to leave at the end of his loan, and a report from The Sun journalist Alan Nixon (14 October) suggests that Butland could potentially join him in exiting Ibrox. As per Nixon, English Championship club Birmingham City are interested in signing the 30-year-old shot-stopper.
Butland has, of course, previously played in England, having most notably represented the likes of Crystal Palace and Stoke City, but it was at Birmingham where he began his career.
A potential emotional return to St Andrew’s may just worry Rangers fans, who have enjoyed their goalkeeper’s bright start to life in Scotland.
There are certainly a few players who the new man in the dugout can afford to lose in the upcoming transfer windows, but Butland definitely isn’t one of them.
