terminated deal : Tottenham rejects Chelsea deal for signing £100,000-a-week in summer transfer window.

Mauricio Pochettino’s Chelsea reportedly wanted to sign Hugo Lloris from Ange Postecoglou’s Tottenham Hotspur in the summer transfer window.

Chelsea tried to sign Hugo Lloris from Tottenham Hotspur

Kepa moved to Spanish and European giants Real Madrid on a loan deal in the summer transfer window after Chelsea signed Robert Sanchez.

Sanchez then became the number one goalkeeper at Chelsea, who subsequently started the search for a deputy.

According to The Telegraph, Chelsea made a call to Lloris, but soon after, the former Premier League and UEFA Champions League winners brought in Djordje Petrovic from the New England Revolution.

Lloris is still at Tottenham.

We believe that Chelsea made the right decision to bring in Petrovic instead of signing Lloris.

The £100,000-a-week (Spotrac) Lloris is 36 now and is past his prime.

Lloris has been a regular for Tottenham for years now, and it was unlikely that he was going to play second fiddle at Chelsea.

And it was also unlikely that the goalkeeper would have moved to Chelsea given the intense rivalry with London rivals Tottenham.

Petrovic is 23 now and could eventually develop to become the number one goalkeeper at Chelsea.
