Tottenham Hotspur are reportedly keeping tabs on the Belgian defender Wout Faes.
According to journalist Sacha Tavolieri, the 25-year-old Leicester City defender is ‘appreciated by the management’ at Tottenham, and it remains to be seen whether they decide to make a move for him.
Eric Dier has been linked with a move away from Tottenham in recent weeks and the North London outfit will have to replace the England international adequately if he decides to move on.
The 29-year-old is a versatile player who can operate as a midfielder as well as a defender in a number of roles. Dier has been a useful squad player for Tottenham over the years and it remains to be seen whether Faes can replace him in the side if he decides to move on
The Belgian has had a mixed spell at Leicester City so far and he has been relegated to the Championship with the Foxes.
The opportunity to return to the top flight could be an attractive proposition for the 25-year-old and he is likely to be tempted if Tottenham come calling.
The Belgian could develop into a reliable defender for Tottenham in the coming seasons.
Spurs have already signed James Maddison from Leicester City earlier this summer and it will be interesting to see if they can use the amicable relationship between the two clubs and sign the Belgian as well.
Joining one of the biggest clubs in the Premier League would be the ideal next step in the career of Faes and he will look to continue his development with regular football in the top flight.
Tottenham defenders Davinson Sanchez and Japhet Tanganga could also move away this summer and it would not be a surprise if Spurs decided to bring in a central defender before the window closes.
