The Cowboys have officially released LB Rashaan Evans after his arrest for marijuana.

Texas’s Frisco On Tuesday, linebacker Rashaan Evans was taken into custody by Frisco police for marijuana possession, one day prior to his release from the Dallas Cowboys.

Evans was waived by the Cowboys on Wednesday to create space for offensive tackle Matt Waletzko, who was taken off injured reserve due to a shoulder ailment sustained during training camp.

Evans was credited with nine tackles in nine games during his time with the Cowboys.

Keon Coleman, a receiver for Florida State, announced his intention to declare for the NFL draft, adding another Seminole to the long list of players who will be moving in 2024.

On Wednesday, Coleman made his decision public on Instagram. He expressed gratitude to Florida State and his former school, Michigan State, for the opportunity, and expressed regret that the Seminoles were unable to secure a postseason berth.

“We gave it everything we had and, unfortunately, did not have the opportunity to prove that we were the best team in college football this year,” Coleman stated. “I’m forever grateful for the fans, my coaches and my teammates who are now my lifelong brothers.

 

Coleman caught 58 passes for 798 yards and seven touchdowns at Michigan State in 2022.

Coleman has chosen not to play in the bowl game, joining fellow Florida State standouts Johnny Wilson, Trey Benson, Jared Verse, Jaheim Bell, and Akeem Dent. Other important players, such as linebacker DJ Lundy and quarterback Tate Rodemaker, have accessed the transfer portal. For Florida State’s bowl game against Georgia on December 31, almost 20 players from the ACC championship game depth chart will be out.
