This offseason, the Dallas Cowboys might need to add a new running back to their roster. In 2024, Rico Dowdle and Tony Pollard will both be eligible for free agency. There have been many Cowboys rumors regarding possible replacements as a result of their uncertain futures.
A few potential choices were mentioned by Joe Tansey of Bleacher Report, including Raheem Mostert of the Miami Dolphins, a running back. With four games left in the season, the veteran is coming off a career year in which he has already scored 18 touchdowns in total.
Is Miami willing to trade Mostert for a “day 2 or day 3 draft pick,” Tansey wonders. Without Mostert, De’Von Achane of the Dolphins could see an increase in touches.
In an article published on December 13, 2023, titled “Hypothetical Trades Cowboys Must Consider in 2024 NFL Offseason,” Tansey provided details about Raheem Mostert, an older but less expensive option to take into consideration on the running back trade market. Mostert, 31, may see fewer carries if the Miami Dolphins decide to make De’Von Achane their starting running back in the offseason.
“Despite his advanced age, Mountert demonstrated throughout the season that he has not yet lost a step. According to Tansey, “The Cowboys may send Miami a Day 2 or 3 draft pick in exchange for Mostert, who is only expected to earn $2.3 million next season, according to Spotrac.
