ANGELES — On Monday, the Los Angeles Dodgers paid cash to the New York Mets to acquire pitcher Yohan Ramírez. Last Monday, the 29-year-old right-hander was assigned to a position. On April 13, after starting the season with the Mets and giving up seven runs in 5 1/3 innings, he was claimed by Baltimore.
On May 6, Ramírez rejoined the Mets and threw three shutout innings prior to being designated for distribution. In 14 1/3 innings, he has a 6.91 ERA and is 0-1 overall. The native of the Dominican Republic has played in the major leagues for portions of five seasons with the Chicago White Sox, Seattle, Cleveland, Pittsburgh, New York, and Baltimore. He has a 4.29 ERA, 145 strikeouts in 138 1/3 innings, and a combined record of 6-5.
