As a result of the Feyenoord manager’s claim that he will soon become the most expensive coach in Dutch football history, new Liverpool head coach Arne Slot has received criticism from a former player who believes he “lacks class.”
Following Jurgen Klopp’s announcement that he would be leaving at the end of the season, Slot, 45, will take over as manager of Anfield
. The club management chose Slot over more well-known contenders like Xabi Alonso and Ruben Amorim, even though Slot won the Eredivisie championship and the KNVB Beker (Dutch cup) this season.
It is understood that the terms of the agreement to bring Slot to Anfield have already been finalised. Liverpool will have to pay roughly €13 million in compensation for Slot and up to two employees
Feyenoord appears to be on track to earn the largest transfer fee for a coach in the Netherlands.
“And somewhere I still have a bit of the idea that I have performed so well in recent years, earned so much money, that Feyenoord is thinking along those lines.
The key is to remain true to yourself even when you’re following one of the biggest football personalities, which I believe he is. To be perfectly honest, I wasn’t sure about his interview when he discussed how amazing it was for Dutch football and how much money Feyenoord was giving him.
