The Los Angeles Lakers made the decision to strike a deal to acquire two players in advance of the NBA trade deadline.
Many people considered the Los Angeles Lakers to be serious contenders for an NBA Championship after they emerged victorious from the NBA’s In-Season Tournament. However, their record of 16-15 shows that Darvin Ham’s team still needs improvement. Fortunately, the Lakers have plenty of time to bolster their roster in advance of the NBA trade deadline on February 8; several names have already been linked to the Purple and Gold.
However, NBA insider Adrian Wojnarowski claims that the Lakers are giving special attention to athleticism and speed.
Some names that come to mind that fit this description are Zach LaVine of Chicago and Dejounte Murray of Atlanta, both of whom have been linked to the Lakers in multiple rumors.
While it would be simpler to acquire LaVine, the Lakers might favor Murray’s defensive prowess over LaVine’s. However, just over a year after making the trade for the former Spurs guard, Atlanta might not be willing to let go of their All-Star defender.
The Lakers have more than a month to find a trade partner, as previously stated, but Lakers general manager Rob Pelinka may be under more pressure to act now that the team has dropped five of its last six games.
