The Los Angeles Lakers officially make an offer to the Raptors for D’Angelo Russell in a three-team trade.

Tuesday night’s game between the Los Angeles Lakers and Toronto Raptors offers a special chance for Lakers supporters. The Raptors may be going through a fire sale after dealing OG Anunoby, and the Lakers may be interested.

The Toronto Raptors’ biggest trade target this season is Pascal Siakam, and it would be surprising if he wasn’t dealt before the deadline. Siakam’s contract is about to expire, and it doesn’t appear that he intends to remain in Toronto permanently. The Raptors must not let the all-star forward walk for free, taking a cue from their experience with Fred VanVleet.

The Lakers can still take advantage of the Siakam rumors even though he is most likely beyond their budget. The Lakers can profit from a potential Raptors fire sale by acquiring Siakam as a third team, as opposed to trading for someone like Gary Trent Jr.

Though Siakam may not be available, the Lakers may be able to acquire a player by trade who the Raptors no longer require. This opens up a lot of opportunities for the Lake Show, one of which involves a player who has been linked to the team for years now in trade rumors.

In theory, the Lakers could trade Buddy Hield to Pascal Siakam.
The Indiana Pacers are one team that has put Buddy Hield back on the trade block.
