The Lakers’ increasing engagement in trade discussions in recent weeks has demonstrated how highly they regard Austin Reaves, to the point where they essentially view him as untouchable.

Reaves, his contract, his free agency, and whether the Lakers made the right decision have all been the subject of some revisionist history. They did, is the response. Complete halt. It doesn’t mean they shouldn’t have made that deal just because he’s found it difficult to advance this year.
Reaves, however, is still very much in the game, a young player with plenty of room to develop, and he still has legitimate playoff success and experience.
