the Los Angeles Lakers reportedly made the decision to reduce payments at the trade deadline.

Days remain until the trade deadline, so the Lakers may have to settle for incremental upgrades rather than a huge trade.

The Lakers haven’t made any moves despite the trade deadline quickly approaching.

On a road trip, the team won 4-2 thanks to performances by players like D’Angelo Russell, who was reportedly being traded.

Jovan Buha of The Atheltic speculates that the Lakers may be considering a smaller move rather than a major roster-altering acquisition given that they are currently two games above.500, riding a three-game winning streak, and not expecting a blockbuster trade anytime soon.

If not, the Lakers will probably make a move along the margins, potentially cutting some payroll in the process, and then try to acquire a player or two through buyouts.

Thus, if the Lakers intend to offload some players and cash

Having scored more than ten points in several games this week, Jaxson Hayes has had his best week as a Laker, providing much-needed energy to the team. But because of his defensive shortcomings and the fact that he is primarily a nice lob threat offensively, Hayes and his $2.1 million contract have spent the majority of the season on the bench.

Was this just a fortunate run of games, or is this the week he has his best performance every week? Given his high stock right now, it might be a good idea to move him.

Even though a move along the margins won’t shock the NBA community or give supporters hope that the team is getting closer to contending, any move is still better than none at all.
