Mayberry was fairly gloomy when asked how easy it would be to wrangle Caruso out of Chicago. Mayberry reported that Caruso, an All-Defensive Team player the previous season who has only improved offensively this year, is viewed by Bulls management as anBuha and Mayberry mention that multiple first-round draft selections are purportedly being asked by Chicago for Caruso’s services. At $9.5 million this year and partially guaranteed $9.9 million for 2024–25, he’s on an incredible deal, and LA has missed his defense ever since they foolishly let him walk in favor of keeping “win-later” shooting guard Talen Horton-Tucker during the disastrous 2021 offseason.
