Depending on how this season ends, the Miami Heat could seek to trade for one of several All-Star guards who could be available this summer.
Help is needed for the Miami Heat, especially offensively. The league’s 21st-rated offence continues to drag the Heat, despite their rise to fourth place in defensive rating.
Throughout the Jimmy Butler era, this has happened much too frequently. Although supporting roles from Caleb Martin, Duncan Robinson, Max Strus, and Kendrick Nunn have been beneficial over the years, the Heat have been looking for a co-star to share the load on offence since 2019. There’s only so much Bam Adebayo can be asked to do.
The Heat have pursued players like Damian Lillard, Kevin Durant, and Donovan Mitchell because of this. All of them are legitimate scorers who can make easy baskets in any situation, which is exactly what Miami needs.
After Sunday’s disheartening loss to the Indiana Pacers, coach Erik Spoelstra remarked, “Our level of effort, toughness, and disposition, all of that weren’t to our standards.” “And every single possession must be involved.”
That might not be the case if the Heat possessed a star offensive player who could score points on a regular basis. The Heat may try to make another major run this summer if they are unable to fulfill their declared objective of winning a championship once more.
