The Miami Heat are still in the process of completing two agreements after the NBA trade deadline.

The Miami Heat are still in the process of making moves, even after the NBA trade deadline has passed.

Like when they signed Kevin Love the previous season, the Heat might be able to add some useful players to their roster through the buyout market. It’s important to remember that the Heat can only sign players from the buyout market whose 2023–24 salary is $12.4 million or less due to their opposition to the luxury tax. For example, Joe Harris ($19.9 million) is no longer an option.

The Miami Heat still has the opportunity to add a significant player through the buyout market, even though the NBA trade deadline has passed.
The Heat can sign a player with their $5 million taxpayer mid-level exception even though they are over the cap. They won’t be a second apron tax team this season if they sign a player to the full MLE because they have an open roster spot and are $6.5 million from the second luxury tax lineAny new player that signs will probably not be included in Miami’s starting lineup right away because it currently appears to be made up of Terry Rozier, Josh Richardson, Jimmy Butler, Tyler Herro, Caleb Martin, Bam Adebayo, Jaime Jaquez Jr., Duncan Robinson, and Kevin Love. However, the Heat could use more depth at forward and point guard now that Dru Smith is out for the season.

Here are three free agents who could be involved with the Heat for the remainder of the season and who are (or will probably be) available following the trade deadline.
