The Miami Heat finally reached an agreement with veteran guard Delon Wright after a contract buyout.

The NBA’s meanest, toughest, and nastiest team is getting deeper.

Veteran guard Delon Wright is expected to sign with the Miami Heat, according to a report from ESPN’s Adrian Wojnarowski on Friday. The announcement coincides with Wright’s ($8.2 million) consent to a Washington Wizards contract buyout.

Wright, 31, was selected No. 20 overall in the first round of the 2015 draft. He has played for Toronto, Memphis, Dallas, Detroit, Sacramento, Atlanta, and Washington, carving out a career for himself as a journeyman. In less than 14 minutes per game this season, Wright averaged 4.1 points and 2.5 assists for the Wizards.

Since trading Kyle Lowry and losing Gabe Vincent as a free agent, the Heat have needed point guards this season.

After the All-Star break, Wright, the brother of former Miami Heat champion Dorell Wright, should provide the 30-25 Heat with solid on-ball defense, secondary playmaking, and decent spot-up shooting off the bench.
