Barry Jackson of the Miami Herald reports that all trade rumors involving Zach LaVine of the Chicago Bulls and the Miami Heat are just that—pipe dreams—and most likely will stay that way. Pat Riley, the president of the Heat, is simply not going to take any chances when it comes to the team’s financial stability.
This week, Jackson wrote, “Zach LaVine of Chicago, another big-time scorer, is available on the trade market.” However, a person with close access to the Heat front office claimed that, at least for the time being, Miami has not been pursuing a trade for him. I’d be shocked if that were to alter.
LaVine has been the talk of the early NBA trade rumor mill, and for good reason. Over the course of his last two seasons, he has averaged 24.6 points, 4.1 assists, and 4.6 rebounds. He has also made 48.0% of his shots and 37.0% of his 3-pointers.
Because this group is thought to be lacking in offensive punch, players like LaVine will always come up in Miami Heat trade rumors. He is a versatile and talented offensive player.
