NBA analyst Nick Wright recently talked about a number of possible trades involving LeBron James, the superstar for the Los Angeles Lakers.
Superstar LeBron James’s return to the Miami Heat seems improbable, but NBA analyst Nick Wright doesn’t think so.
In a recent “First Things First” episode, Wright displayed several fictitious trades that would have sent the veteran forward somewhere else. The logic is based on James’ and the Los Angeles Lakers’ difficult regular season stretch. Of their last 11 games, they have suffered seven losses.
Not to be overlooked is the Miami one. No picks, but you have a contract with Tyler Herro and Duncan Robinson to make it happen,” Wright remarked. I would like to make the following point, and I’m not sure where you stand on it. The Lakers wouldn’t be in the same position to win a championship as any one of those teams.”
For Miami, Herro and Robinson provide significant offensive contributions, albeit not consistently. Robinson is averaging 13.2 points on 45.2 percent shooting, while the former Sixth Man of the Year is averaging 21.2 points (career-high) on 43.3 percent shooting. On any given night, the tandem can score a ton of points despite their inconsistent play.
Los Angeles’ win-now mentality makes accepting the deal impractical. The Lakers intend to contend for an NBA championship with James and big man Anthony Davis at the center. But if LA chooses to press the pause button, James might end up somewhere familiar or unfamiliar.
