Spidey fever is slinging its web across the Globe and the MLB isn’t one to get left behind. The New York Mets, despite ending the 2021 season without a playoff spot, will be looking to pick it up and run it back again this year. And some faces on the roster really do stand out.

Ending up 3rd in the National League, with a 77 – 85 record, the season serves as a decent mid marker for the Mets. The lockout and the off-season should give the Mets time to really hunker down and figure out the trades they need to mount a challenge for the playoff spots in 2022.
And with them only ending 6th in the Wild Card Standings for the playoff, they still aren’t way off qualification. A couple moves in the lockout shortened season should give them just enough time
The Pitcher Multiverse
Regardless of the off-season roster moves however, the New York Mets seems to have the web (excuse the pun) in a frenzy with a new graphic being put up on Twitter.

The graphic features winners of the Cy Young Award from the New York Mets’ roster. These include mentions of pitchers from various years who have won the award before on a poster parody of the new Spiderman movie “No Way Home”.
The New York Mets featured on the list include past winners of the award, Jacob Degrom(2018), RA Dickey(2012), Dwight Gooden (1985) and Tom Seawer (1969). The poster graphic also mentions Max Scherzer with the year 2022 next to it making some bold predictions for the season ahead.
The Cy Young Award is awarded by the Baseball Writers Association of America to the best pitcher from each League and is an annual award given out in the MLB. The Award used to be for the best pitcher from the MLB, meaning for both the leagues combined, for the first 11 years. This however, was changed in 1966 to the best pitcher from the American League and the National League respectively.
