Adrian Wojnarowski of ESPN said on Friday that Mike Muscala is set to join with the Oklahoma City Thunder.
After playing for the team from 2019 to 23, Muscala, 32, is back in OKC for a second time. On Tuesday, the 7-foot-1 center had his contract with the Detroit Pistons purchased.
In 24 games at Washington to start the season, Muscala averaged four points and 3.1 rebounds. After that, in January, he was traded to Detroit, where in 13 games, he averaged 3.5 points and 2.2 rebounds.
On February 23, OKC cleared a position on the roster by waiving forward Aleksej Pokusevski, a fourth-year player. Muscala has now joined the team, completed its roster and added some seasoned depth to the frontcourt.
Over the course of his 11-year career, Muscala has shot 37.6% from distance. He will have competition from OKC’s February 10 signing Bismack Biyombo and Jaylin Williams for backup center minutes.
