As of February 28, 2025, the Oklahoma Sooners football program has yet to secure any official commitments for their 2027 recruiting class. The recruiting process for this class is still in its early stages, with the coaching staff actively evaluating and extending offers to promising high school sophomores.

In April 2024, the Sooners received an early commitment from edge rusher Zane Rowe, a standout from Denton Guyer High School in Texas. Rowe, standing 6-foot-5 and weighing 225 pounds, was highly regarded, ranked as the No. 49 overall player and the No. 8 edge rusher in the 2027 class by the On3 Industry Rankings. However, in January 2025, Rowe announced his decision to decommit from Oklahoma, opting to reopen his recruitment. citeturn0search3

Despite this setback, the Sooners remain proactive in pursuing top talent for the 2027 class. Recently, they extended an offer to four-star running back Rayshawn Duncan Jr. from Bedford High School in Ohio. Duncan, recognized as the No. 19 running back prospect in his class, included Oklahoma in his top 10 school choices, alongside programs like Michigan, Penn State, and Utah. citeturn0search4

Additionally, Oklahoma has shown interest in bolstering its offensive line by offering a scholarship to Ian Aloisio, a top-rated interior offensive lineman in the 2027 cycle. This move underscores the coaching staff’s commitment to strengthening the team’s foundational units. citeturn0search7

The Sooners are also targeting defensive talent, as evidenced by their offer to four-star cornerback Dhillon McGee. While the 2027 class currently lacks official commitments, these strategic offers reflect Oklahoma’s dedication to assembling a competitive roster for the future. citeturn0search9

It’s important to note that recruiting is a dynamic process, especially with prospects in their sophomore year of high school. The landscape will continue to evolve as players develop, and the Sooners’ coaching staff remains vigilant in identifying and securing talent that aligns with the program’s standards and needs.
