The Phillies finally agreed to offer Alec Bohm $4 million in 2024 after he made his demand.

Alec Bohm asked for $4 million as a 2024 salary with the #Phillies offering $3.4 million. No matter where they end up it will be a substantial raise for the 27-year-old, who made $748k for the 2023 campaign. He cannot become a free agent until after the 2026 season.

Interesting how both numbers are below his 4.3m estimate.

They are pretty close, I would be shocked if they don’t agree to terms before the hearing

They can and will negotiate this entire time leading up to the hearing (they can get ugly if the player attends).

Shit, even Rolen agreed to terms to avoid a hearing and he was requesting a trade out of here.

The Phillies should’ve just gave him the 4 mil IMO I know people get all worked about him but he’s been solid in my mind and deserves it.

The reason the small differences matter more for this arbitration contract is everything is built and scaled off the first one. So that slight difference now means a lot more later.

I think they probably agree before arbitration, but that is why that small difference is why they haven’t agreed.

PhilliesBell] Edmundo Sosa will get a $1.7 million salary for 2024, avoiding arbitration with the Phillies, the five-year veteran infielder nearling doubling his $950k from 2023. He will turn just 26 in early March and will not be a free agent until after the 2026 campaign

Jojo Romero has been totally solid for STL but what a great trade this turned out to be. Sosa is the perfect utility infielder.

His offensive numbers are crazy since Trea Turner went down. I know he hasn’t played that many games so far, and the Phillies have a lot of candidates this year, but is it possible this year?
