The Minnesota Vikings must make a costly choice.
As of right now, Justin Jefferson has a five-year option remaining. That implies that the only ways to retain him around after this upcoming season are through a long-term extension or the franchise tag.
Albert Breer of Sports Illustrated expressed his anticipation that Jefferson will stay with the Vikings “for the foreseeable future” as the three-time Pro Bowl pass catcher is poised to change the landscape of the NFL market for all non-quarterback positions.
Breer stated on April 10 that Minnesota has “built its [sic] offense over the past few years where they’d go into this season capable of supporting a rookie quarterback.” Along with skill-position players like Aaron Jones, who they signed in free agency, and tackles Christian Darrisaw and Brian O’Neill, the Vikings boast an offensive line that is led by these two players.
“If the Vikings can find a young quarterback to draft in two weeks, trading Jefferson would make the whole thing pretty wobbly.”
It is commonly known that the Vikings are considering trading up to choose a quarterback.
